From GoodReads:
The sirens are back, but Vanessa may be the biggest threat of all. . . .
Nothing has been normal since Vanessa Sands learned that her sister was murdered by sirens—femme fatales of the watery depths—and that everything she believed about her family was a lie.
Her boyfriend Simon’s been the only person Vanessa feels she can really trust. But now there are some secrets she can’t tell even him. And when Vanessa finds herself in the sights of Parker, Hawthorne Prep’s resident charmer, she needs someone to confide in more than ever. Doubting her relationship with Simon, unsure of Parker’s intentions—and of her own—and terrified by what she’s learned about herself, Vanessa has never felt so alone.
But personal problems must be put aside, because the Winter Harbor sirens are back for revenge. Now, Vanessa must face her past and accept that she is just like her enemies—every bit as alluring, every bit as dangerous.
The eagerly anticipated second novel of the Siren trilogy, Undercurrent is a seductive paranormal romance that will leave you breathless.
After defeating the sirens that killed her sister, Vanessa's life has not been the same.
She's still with Simon, but now there is Parker. And Simon is acting very strange. Granted, Vanessa is acting strange too. She has a really big secret. This secret could destroy them. Family secrets also emerge that throw Vanessa for a tail spin.
In the midst of all of these revelation, the sirens come back to Winter Harbor. And this time they are pissed and want revenge. Their target? Vanessa and Simon. Will they be able to stop the sirens a second time?
Undercurrent was not my favorite of the two. I was especially bummed because it had the potential to rock. I'm hoping all my wishes for the series will be met in the third. I didn't like Vanessa and Simon in this book. Granted, the re-emergence of the sirens was pretty interesting...
Book three teaser!!
Dark Water comes out July 10, 2012.
When seventeen-year-old
Vanessa reunites with her biological mother, she faces the dilemma of a
siren's existence, that in order to survive she must endanger the lives
of those she loves most.
See what I mean about the paper back cover of Siren. It looks beautiful with the other two! |
