Synopsis:
Embrace the Forbidden
What if there were teens whose
lives literally depended on being bad influences?
This is the reality for sons and
daughters of fallen angels.
Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna
Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people.
She’s aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger,
but Anna, the ultimate good girl, has always had the advantage of her angel
side to balance the darkness within. It isn’t until she turns sixteen and meets
the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her
willpower is put to the test. He’s the boy your daddy warned you about. If only
someone had warned Anna.
Forced to face her destiny, will
Anna embrace her halo or her horns?
As a treat for my part of the tour, Wendy gave us a glimpse into her day. So, without further ado-
A Day in the Life of Wendy Higgins!
This post is not going to be as fun or glamourous as you might be expecting.I spend most of my day hearing, “Mommy! Mommy!” with background music provided by Nick
Jr. and Disney Jr. Being a mother and wife are my primary jobs, and I love them. I have a veterinarian husband who works very hard, a 6-year-old drama-queen daughter, and a 3-year-old daredevil son—the best of both worlds.
A normal day goes like this:
Get daughter on bus while son and I stay in pajamas.
He plays with cars and runs around like crazy while I sit on the couch with my laptop and respond to social networking messages (two email accounts, two blogs, Facebook pages, Twitter, Pinterest, Goodreads, etc.)
Feed the little monster and play with him.
Look around and exclaim, “This place is a mess!” before sitting back down and picking up a book to read while snuggling the boy.
Eventually my daughter comes home, dinner gets made, and I run around frantically straightening the house and myself before my husband gets home. I’m like a disorganized, crazy, lazy writer version
of June Cleaver. So...not like June Cleaver at all, I guess. Although I do kiss my husband as soon as he walks in the door. He usually grins at me and says, “Nice pj’s, cutie.”When the kids go to bed around 8PM, that’s when “me time” kicks in. In other words, WRITING! Yay! I’ll write for several hours until crashing.
Of course there are exceptions to this “normal” day. My son goes to preschool a few hours each week, so I get to snag a little writing time then. Weekends revolve around family and friends, but
my husband watches the boy a few hours on Fridays so I can write.
Basically, I spend each day hoping I’ll get a shower at some point, and desperately hoarding any writing time I can get. It’s especially hard when I’m deep into writing a book and my mind is stuck in that story world. This is when dinners burn, and my husband has to say, “Wendy? Did you hear anything I just said?” Me: *blink, blink* “Huh?”
I pretty much don’t do my make-up or hair unless I know I’m going to be hanging out with other adults. I only listen to “my” music when I’m in the car, because I can’t listen to music when I write—it’s too distracting—I have to be alone in a quiet, comfortable place, like my bed.
And that, my friends, is a day in the life of me. And as crazy as it sounds, I’m totally living my dream.
I was blown away by Sweet Evil! I've nothing but glowing reviews, so the time came when I needed to throw my review and thoughts into the mix. And I am so glad that I did. Sweet Anna and Bad Boy Kaidan were a perfect mix. But it turns out that they have more in common than originally thought. They are both Nephilim, children of the Dukes of Hell. O.o Interesting...And yes, by then I was hooked. Would Anna shed her innocent nature and embrace the naughty offered to her by Kaidan?
While Kaidan was an intriguing character, to be honest, he was not my favorite boy. I gave my Sweet Evil fictional heart to Kopano-a friend of Kai's. But there is more to him than there should be.
By the midway point, I was non-stop reading, I could not put the book down. So do yourself a favor, and embrace Anna & Kaidan!

I think Envy with all of the latest items and a hot guy on my arm would be fun! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHmm....probably reading too much. Well, that's what the hubby and kids say! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI think I'd be laziness or I'd induce people to buy tons of books!
ReplyDeleteWhich I pretty much keep doing even though I have lots to read, LOL!
Hmm.. A bad influence.. I'd say lying. I'd convince people to lie about anything I want them to! (I'm a very persuasive person :P)
